Making quality visible

High-quality training is of great importance for trainees and companies alike. It ensures that trainees are taught the skills they need to get off to an excellent start in their careers and contributes to the economy's ability to innovate and compete. Many companies and associations are committed to high quality training. They set their own quality standards for their vocational training and award seals or certificates to make this quality visible.

Strengthening diversity and offering opportunities

Diversity plays a central role in vocational training. It is important to incorporate different experiences into the learning and working process. Diverse and inclusive vocational training contributes to an inclusive working environment in which all trainees have the same opportunities to develop their skills and talents in order to be successful together. Companies have launched projects, e.g. to integrate refugees or provide targeted vocational preparation for disadvantaged young people, in order to strengthen diversity and offer opportunities.

Using digitalization

Digitalization plays a central role in the modern working world. Training companies can also benefit from digitalization by integrating modern technologies into their training concepts. Many processes can be facilitated by digital tools. Approaches such as virtual familiarization and practice days for vocational training are well established. E-learning methods and digital report books for trainees are also used as part of training in order to make use of digitalization.

Securing the next generation of trainees through career guidance

Securing young talent through early and comprehensive career guidance for school pupils and internships in companies is a key factor in strengthening vocational training. Companies and associations offer young people attractive opportunities to gain an insight into the world of work in various sectors. In this way, they make an important contribution - also in cooperation with the BA and schools - to securing the next generation of trainees.

Promoting mobility

Mobility opens up additional options for trainees and companies and facilitates matching on the training market. At national level, young people can complete their training in their desired occupation regardless of their region of origin and companies can reach more potential trainees. At an international level, trainees can gain work-related learning experience through stays abroad and at the same time the internationality of companies is strengthened. For example, there are initiatives to provide accommodation and the opportunity to spend time abroad in order to promote the mobility of trainees.

Show appreciation

Appreciating trainees is a core element of successful training. Showing trainees that their contributions are valued ensures a high level of motivation and a positive learning and working environment. In addition to appreciative interaction, special incentives can be created to motivate trainees and strengthen their identification with their profession. Competitions and prizes for outstanding achievements or exceptional joint activities can be a way of actively showing appreciation to trainees.
