Inclusion Award for Business 2021: Companies can apply now

The employment of people with disabilities opens up new potential for skilled workers and strengthens the diversity of the workforce. - this is what the initiating organizations of the Inclusion Award for Business want to show: The Federal Employment Agency (BA), the Confederation of German Employers' Associations (BDA), Charta der Vielfalt e.V. and UnternehmensForum are calling on companies to apply for the 2021 Inclusion Award for Business. "Successful inclusion is an important lever for companies to meet their demand for skilled workers. Many companies are already demonstrating how inclusion can work in working life," says Detlef Scheele, Chairman of the Federal Employment Agency and spokesman for the initiating group.

According to the awarding organizations, practicing inclusion in the workplace contributes to the success of every company. With the Inclusion Award for Business, they want to encourage companies in 2021 to be inspired by the good experiences of other companies in the employment of people with disabilities.

Employers with exemplary measures for the training and employment of people with disabilities can now apply: The Inclusion Award for Business 2021 honors companies of various sizes that demonstrate in an innovative and exemplary way how inclusion can be shaped in working life.

The patron is Hubertus Heil, Federal Minister of Labour and Social Affairs. He supports the Inclusion Award because "year after year, it shows very concretely that people with disabilities can contribute to corporate success. Especially in view of the growing shortage of skilled workers, the German economy cannot do without this potential."

Companies can be nominated for the award or apply themselves until 31 March 2021.

More competitiveness for Germany as a business location

On the occasion of the refugee summit, Employers’ President Dr. Rainer Dulger explains: Set the course for successful integration now Berlin, February 16, 2023: “We employers are ready to continue making our contribution to integration into the labor market and training. In recent years, Europe has experienced the biggest refugee crisis since the Second World War. This is a task for society as a whole, in which politics and business are successfully pulling together. For us entrepreneurs, it is clear that a pragmatic and efficient approach is needed above all to be able to help quickly and unbureaucratically. It is therefore right that all those responsible should now sit down together to set the course for successful integration. It is good that the German government has promised that the earthquake victims from Turkey will be given refuge quickly. This will be a major feat that we can only achieve if everyone works together. The German economy is ready to provide support where it is needed. Politicians must not forget this: The future of Germany as a business location depends to a decisive extent on well-qualified skilled workers. We need immigration for employment. The federal government should therefore quickly move forward with the legislative process to implement the key points on skilled labor immigration. This is the only way we can solve the shortage of skilled workers and labor that is holding back growth.”
