Employee health protection has been of central importance to all companies in Germany from the very beginning of this Corona exceptional period. By reacting quickly, showing a lot of flexibility and finding sensible solutions, employers have been able to cope very well with the Corona pandemic so far. The "Corona Survey" (psyGA 2020) illustrates this success: two-thirds of employees feel that their employers have provided them with good to very good support and information since the beginning of the pandemic. The fact that companies have taken extensive and very effective measures to protect their employees against infection with the corona virus is also confirmed by the figures of the Robert Koch Institute. According to these, the infection environment "workplace" plays a very minor role. In addition, many companies have voluntarily taken a variety of other organizational measures to reduce the frequency of contact. These include the introduction or extension of home office rules or changes in working hours and break arrangements.
German employers implement their respective protective measures professionally and consistently. Clear communication and ongoing instruction of all those involved is and remains essential in this respect. The necessary basis for this must be a legal situation that is as clear as possible with sufficient leeway for concrete operational implementation. Unfortunately, however, yesterday's resolutions of the Conference of Minister Presidents do not provide the necessary clarity: they are unclear and imprecise in many parts. In particular, we employers point out that business trips must continue to be possible and that there must be no general ban on accommodation. Unnecessary bans should be avoided.
