The Confederation of German Employers' Associations (BDA) comments on the statement from politicians:

Berlin, 21 July 2021 "Where help can be provided flexibly, it will be provided, especially by companies! In such emergency situations, companies that can somehow make this possible will support employees who want to help. This also includes release from work. For many companies, unbureaucratic and rapid immediate help for the people affected is a matter of course. The emergency situation shows once again that it is the private and private-sector initiative in particular that makes the joint task of dealing with the consequences of the floods possible. Politicians should be careful not to discredit this support. Our society must now stand together and not be artificially divided.“
