The President of the Employers' Association, Dr. Rainer Dulger, commented on today's decision by the federal and state governments:
Berlin, 2 December 2021. "The virus is not waiting for the government to be formed. We therefore need a policy driven by reason and not panic. Reliability is an effective component of infection control. Uniform criteria for differentiated solutions are needed. Blanket regulations do not do justice to the challenging situation. It makes sense to have individual regional measures that are appropriate to the local situation.
In all of this, the reality of the workplace must be kept in mind. Only a policy that involves companies and their employees will be supported in the companies. A 2G or 2G Plus regulation, which only serves to avoid a lockdown as a term, but acts like a lockdown, creates more uncertainty, but hardly more protection against infection. Trade must not become a legally questionable special victim.
Vaccination is the order of the day. Those who get vaccinated protect themselves and others. Vaccinating and boosting are the crucial steps to get through this winter. If everyone acts together on the 'keep-the-virus-at-the-door' principle, together we should be able to avoid further restrictions. We therefore particularly welcome the extension of the STIKO's vaccination recommendation. We employers are part of the solution - our company doctors are also ready."
