Employer President Dr. Rainer Dulger comments on the current labour market figures:
Shaping labor market policy not against, but with the economy
Berlin, April 30, 2025: "A look at the current labor market figures clearly shows that there will be no turnaround on the labor market without economic policy stimulus. Unfortunately, the continued stagnation in growth means that there will be no real recovery on the labor market.
With both parties voting in favor of the coalition agreement, a federal government capable of taking action is about to take office: it must quickly improve the framework conditions for companies and employees.
On Labor Day tomorrow, the following appeal will be made: Politicians, employers and employees must pull together for the future of Germany as a business location. The right labor market policy cannot be made against the economy, but only with it.
From childcare to pensions, the right political priorities must be set. I expect the new leadership of the Federal Ministry of Labor to closely involve both social partners in the preparation of new initiatives."
