Promoting work instead of preventing it

Berlin, November 29, 2024: "The labor market is sending out an SOS. Three million unemployed threaten to become a reality this winter. The last time unemployment was this high was almost ten years ago.

The turnaround in the labor market can only be achieved with decisive economic and social policy reforms. We employers are calling for a change in policy that creates the right framework conditions and promotes work instead of preventing it: Citizen's income reform, more flexible working hours, abolition of early retirement incentives, cutting red tape and promoting entrepreneurship. The list is long. It can be summarized briefly: We finally need honesty in labor market policy."
