The Confederation of German Employers' Associations (BDA) has issued a statement on the forecast of the so-called estimators' circle on the development of revenues and expenditures in the SHI system in the coming year:
Berlin, 14 October 2021. "The forecast of the Estimator's Circle is a clear call for fundamental reforms in the health care system. It was right to stabilize the health care system during Corona - now it is right to reform the system. The mandate to the future federal government is clear: swiftly offset Corona's additional costs, stay away from new spending burdens, and have the courage to implement reforms that will make the system sustainable.
This includes a strengthening of competition and consistent care management, in which health insurers are increasingly allowed to conclude selective contracts with service providers, thus enabling them to offer suitable and comprehensive care.
In addition, we also need comprehensive reforms in pension, long-term care and unemployment insurance, because here, too, higher contributions are imminent."
