The President of the Employers' Association, Dr. Rainer Dulger, commented on the Federal Government's mini-compromise on vaccination status:
Berlin, September 3, 2021: "Some compromises are necessary, some work, and some look like electioneering. The coalition's commitment to a mini-extension of the employer's right to ask about vaccination status belongs to the latter. It is astonishing that obstacles are being placed in the way of occupational health protection because of the blockade of a coalition partner. It is incomprehensible that employers can take into account the vaccination or recovery status of employees when determining and implementing measures for occupational infection protection, but are not allowed to ask about it.
We employers are expressly grateful that both the Federal Minister of Economics and the Federal Minister of Health are among the voices of pragmatic reason. Those who rightly demand full commitment from companies in protecting the health of their employees must not back down when it comes to the right to information. That is why the Bundestag should open up the right to ask questions to all sectors and companies next week. Away from Klein Klein and towards successful pandemic control."
