Employer President Dr. Rainer Dulger is calling for fundamental reforms to employment and social security administration in view of current labour market developments:
For a stable, crisis-proof and functional labor market, the new government must act immediately
Berlin, February 28, 2025: "The labour market urgently needs the right economic policy stimuli. For a stable, crisis-proof and functional labor market, the new government must act immediately: less bureaucracy, a stop sign for social security contributions and a labor market policy that promotes employment, relieves employers and rewards motivation.
Unemployment insurance must be able to concentrate on its core tasks of providing training and employment and paying out insurance benefits punctually and reliably.
Work and performance must always be more rewarding than non-work. The entire system of social benefits must be checked for false incentives and reformed.
A fundamental reform of the labor and social administration is necessary. The aim must be to simplify and consolidate the many different benefits, abolish duplicate structures and drive forward cross-agency digitalization. An independent commission should prepare the reform.
To make immigration into employment a success, we need lean administrative structures and the consistent digitalization of processes. The issuing of visas and residence permits should be bundled at the Federal Office for Foreign Affairs. Admission to the labor market can remain with the Federal Employment Agency."
