Commenting on the preliminary results of the Bundestag elections, the President of the Employers' Association, Dr. Rainer Dulger, said:
Democratic parties have been given clear mandate to form new federal government - fringes have been rightly weakened
Berlin, 27 September 2021. "The democratic parties received a clear mandate yesterday for the formation of a new federal government. The fringes have been rightly weakened. A radical government to the left of centre has been made impossible by the election results and thus gridlock has been ruled out for the time being. We look forward to working with a government that is ready for modernisation.
The task now is to forge a forward-looking reform programme for Germany. Our proposals for this are on the table. Climate protection and entrepreneurial freedom must not be opposites. We need a broad concept of sustainability that combines ecological and economic responsibility. We need responsible reforms if we want to keep our social security systems efficient. The focus must now be on the content.
Germany must become faster so that we can also meet the challenges. We must not accept relegation. Germany can do more - politicians have it in their hands to create a good framework for this."
