We expect real progress in the fight against bureaucratic madness

Arbeitgeberpräsident Dr. Rainer Dulger - Portrait ©BDA

Employers' President Dr. Rainer Dulger comments on the Bundesrat vote for the Fourth Bureaucracy Relief Act:

We expect real progress in the fight against bureaucratic madness

Berlin, October 18, 2024 "Everyone is talking about reducing bureaucracy. No one in the business world is actually feeling it. So far, plans to reduce red tape are nothing more than letters on paper. Smaller reductions are followed by larger burdens. But we expect real progress in the fight against bureaucratic madness.

I am convinced that if the policy of obsessive regulation continues, Germany faces the threat of a progressive slowdown in growth. We should not accept this. Now is the right time to say goodbye to the title of bureaucracy world champion. Do away with superfluous reporting obligations and unnecessary laws. Then the way will be clear for innovation, entrepreneurial activity, an upturn and prosperity."
