BDA-CEO Steffen Kampeter on the publication of the “Quality Jobs Roadmap” by the European Commission:<7u>
“Quality Jobs Act” threatens to jeopardize EU relief
Berlin, December 4, 2025. „We need a more competitive Europe. The EU Commission must therefore not undermine the reduction of bureaucracy by imposing new burdens. A “Quality Jobs Act” would be a serious mistake.
Instead of strengthening competitiveness and reducing bureaucracy, there is a threat of more regulation in EU social policy. This contradicts the Commission's own goals. Especially when it comes to the opportunities offered by artificial intelligence, additional regulations would further set Europe back in global competition.
We do not need overregulation, but high-quality jobs in competitive companies. This requires tangible relief measures – the EU target of at least a 25 percent reduction in bureaucracy must be implemented.
We call for an omnibus labor market package that simplifies existing regulations – not a new burden on EU employment policy. Because one thing is clear: quality jobs are not created by regulations, but by good framework conditions.“
